SUMMARY:

The KK&O The KKO Legal Assistant/Secretary provides support to the Attorney team by fulfilling comprehensive administrative duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative Support:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and maintaining calendars.
  • Prepare and proofread legal documents, correspondence, memos, and reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and couriers, ensuring timely delivery and distribution.
  • Maintain attorney files, both in physical and electronic formats, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.

Communication and Correspondence:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external communications, including answering phone calls, taking messages, and responding to inquiries.
  • Draft and edit correspondence, emails, and other written communications on behalf of attorneys as necessary.
  • Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and travel arrangements for attorneys and clients.
  • Conduct basic legal research using online databases and resources, compiling relevant information for attorneys.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases, case files, and client records.

CAPABILITIES:

  • Ability to follow instructions through a standard work process.
  • Ability to Prepare legal documents.
  • Ability to Proofread documents, records, or other files to ensure accuracy.
  • Ability to Send information, materials, or documentation.
  • Ability to Schedule appointments.
  • Ability to Record information about legal matters.
  • Ability to Operate office equipment.
  • Ability to Obtain personal or financial information about customers or applicants.
  • Ability to Prepare documentation for contracts, transactions, or regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to Issue documentation or identification to customers or employees.
  • Ability to Prepare business correspondence.
  • Ability to Provide information to coworkers.
  • Ability to Make travel, accommodations, or entertainment arrangements for others.
  • Ability to Search files, databases, or reference materials to obtain needed information.
  • Ability to Record information from meetings or other formal proceedings.

Job Type: Full-time
